a street food dining set up on the side of the road.
busy every single day, make sure you get here by 12pm!
MUST try the Signature Special Bowl with Yaki Soba Noodles – only 70 baht (£1.65).
super spicy and the free butterfly pea juice on the tables are also delicious!

an unassuming local restaurant tucked away on a street corner near the Chao Praya River.
specialising in Mookata aka a hot pot with a grill in the centre where you cook your own meat/fish & stew your vegetables and noodles in a home made broth.
very cheap for the incredible flavour – 299thb/set for large – we had it for 2 people.
don’t expect a fancy restaurant, be prepared for full authentic vibes & make sure you bring cash.

this is a real local hidden gem, it is basically a greek pub with a gorgeous courtyard and rooftop terrace
the service is amazing but they get super packed, so make sure you book in advance
the courtyard was our fav place to sit and we loved it so much we went back twice

loads of veggie options here too

this is a super traditional, hidden, backstreet local restaurant
it is really hidden, so look carefully and when you open that door you will see what the fuss is all about
we found this place after a lot of digging and research and apparently the locals hang out here in off season a lot
food is super traditional, so take a punt and try as much as you can
the house local wine here is so nice too

out of all the restaurants we have recommended, this is the most local
no menu, just what the father and son cook fresh every morning
they do not speak much english so be prepared wine is a mandatory on the table and gets brought out any time of the day
go here for lunch and remember they are closed on sundays

this place had us addicted with their chicken fries box, the sauces are to die for
the gyros is amazing too and you can see it being cooked in front of you
rock up for lunch or dinner and wait around for a table, people tend to eat and leave quite quickly

it may seem strange to go to an Italian restaurant in Greece but it has to have been one of the best italians we have ever had
the chef Andreas is a culinary genius with flavours and also super friendly
this place is in Kolonaki (a super local neighbourhood) so most people you see are local regulars
the alio olio pesto pasta, bruschetta and the tiramisu was incredible

they have the traditional floor seating which is why we love this place so much! (they also have table seating too)

Kadıneli stands for ‘woman’s hand’ because this entire restaurant is run by only women
The idea behind the project was so the women from Üçhisar have a place to work and make an honest wage here
not only does this place stand for equality in this area, the women put their love into everything they make
all items are freshly hand made every day
they also have a ‘soup kitchen’ where they provide food for 40 needy families without charge
once you try the sulu köfte, you’ll never go anywhere else!

hidden near a petrol station, not somewhere you would usually stop!
the restaurant is owned by a local family and the food is cooked with so much love
the dishes are from a stone oven and burst with flavour
we tried the pide and the Adana kebabı, both super delicious!
